A Perfect Fri'day'

Cold, wet, morning

  • Hair set successfully, despite rushed morning. :-)

  • Task mails, quickly dispatched

Drizzly rainy afternoon

  • Hair still 'well set' :-P

  • Awesome pepper paneer fry in Shezan made with lotsa 'kadipatta'

  • Window shopping thru' Pantaloons new collection (happiest moment)

Rest of office time well spent in listening to Radio Indigo.

Packs many splendid 'reads'

I have been tripping through Khaled "Kite Runner " Hosseini's 'A Thousand Splendid Suns'.
It has been a compelling read and has been keeping me up till dawn even at the end of really tiring days...

I am anxious, to get back to Laila and Mariams life, later tonight.

Among other noteworthy events, lined up for the weekend:

Rajanikanth's Sivaji.

Shopping for shoes/ bag/clothes.

Trainspotting!

Mark Renton, the narrator:

"Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed- interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure wear and matching luggage. Choose a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing sprit- crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing you last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked-up brats you have spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life...

But why would I want to do a thing like that?

I chose not to choose life: I chose something else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who need reasons when you've got heroin?

Anyone, who talks about missing the good old days- has obviously not seen the stationery, thats out there these days.

Its so cool- I want to hoard stationery period.

I quite like this philosophy myself!

"I have a new philosophy. I'm only going to dread one day at a time."

A bad throat infection is setting and nothing can avert it, from its destination of choice.

BBC Entertainment Rocks!

This conversation between the protagonists of My Family, the show on BBC, is a carbon copy of my conversation with the better half- only thrown in with more abuses and insults..

The scene : Husband and wife, on a Saturday evening, wondering what to do.

Wife (repeatedly, to the husband, who is ignoring her and reading newspaper) : We should do something together, you know.

Husband (after much nagging): Why cant you just 'be', honey, and not 'do'- we are human beings after all; not human doings.

Wife : you are a human doing, you know, and not a necessarily good one, at that!
